The Comeback Story: LURE Returns Stronger Than Ever
The Comeback Story: LURE Returns Stronger Than Ever
In 2022, LURE made history as the largest Black-owned retailer in Illinois, known for our curated fashion, accessories, and our commitment to uplifting other entrepreneurs through collaborations. Alongside our sister brands — LURE Chaussures Boutique and iShopLure Market — we created more than just stores. We built platforms where small businesses, culture, and community could thrive together.
Then, without warning, everything stopped.
On April 29, 2022, just four months after surviving a medical emergency following childbirth, I was ejected from a car in a devastating accident. The crash nearly claimed my life. For nearly a year I was bedridden, and the difficult decision was made to close all of our brick-and-mortar locations while I focused on survival and rehabilitation.
The closure was never about business performance — LURE was thriving. It was about healing. And that healing has taken three years of resilience, faith, and determination.
Today, I’m proud to share that:
✨ LURE is reopening.
✨ LURE Chaussures Boutique is reopening.
✨ iShopLure Market is reopening.
This comeback is more than a reopening — it’s a revival. It’s proof that even in the face of tragedy, with faith and community, you can rise again.
To our loyal customers, partner brands, and supporters: thank you for your patience, love, and encouragement through this journey. I cannot wait to welcome you back through our doors and continue building opportunities together.
Stay connected here at ishoplure.com for reopening dates, events, and announcements.
With gratitude,
